A.D.E.Q. BURN PERMIT

The Palominas Fire District does not issue burn permits. We are required by law to request that you apply for a ADEQ permit.

There is no fee for this permit, and most applications are accepted.

Permits are issued for persons wanting to burn:

natural substances, such as:

·          trees

·          grasses

·          brush

you can not burn garbage or Hazardous materials.

If there is a State band for burning in effect this does apply to anyone with or without a burn permit.

Some burns that don’t require applications:

- Bar-B-Q pit

- Fire used for cooking of food

- Providing warmth for human beings

- Recreational purposes

- Branding of animals

- Use of orchard heaters for frost protection

If you choose to do any on the above list we appreciate a courtesy call in the event someone sees the smoke or flame and reports it, causing us to respond to your recreational burn.

ADAQ holds jurisdiction over the Palominas and Hereford area for the issuance of open burn permits. As a courtesy to our residence PVFD supplies blank burn permits upon request. Permits must be mailed to the address printed at the top of the application.

Applications can not be issued with out the original signed application, no copies please.

Detail instructions and guidelines are included with the application package– If you need to have special burning times you must request them on your application.

In addition to obtaining  your burn permit, we ask that you contact The Palominas Fire Department to notify us you will be burning.

Please call Becky 366-5400 or Barb 366-0904.

This avoids the department from responding to your residence to extinguish your fire.

As always, if your fire should get out of hand

don’t hesitate to call 911 !
